TITHE

DONATIONS
What is Tithe and how much is it?
Tithe
We cannot pay God directly, so we offer thanksgiving for increasing our finances by sowing it as a tithe offering to God’s servants who have dedicated their time to serving God and us.
Abraham was the first person recorded to have paid tithe to Melchizedek the priest. It was not done following any instructions from God. No commandment was first given instructing Abraham to tithe. He just did it to show God his appreciation and grateful heart.
Jacob also willingly offered to give God a 10th (10%) of all the increase in his wealth. It was not a commandment given to man but man initiated it, and God honoured it by blessing them even more.
Likewise, if you decide to make the choice of offering tithe to God, He has promised that He in turn would open the windows of heaven and bless us immeasurably. Why? Because you would have decided of your own free will to show God love by giving something He has not asked of you. Just like a child deciding to bake a cake for their parents as a surprise – this would touch their hearts immensely and cause them to want to bless their child in return.
Most people decide to pay 10% of their earnings or increase in wealth/financially just like Jacob did, however, some decide to give 5% or 20% and yes even 90%. However, this is a decision one must make after deliberate prayer.
Why I pay my offering.
Offering is what you decide to give God as a form of gratitude for what He has done for you. It is not a specific amount and is entirely dependant on you.
Offering is exactly what it says, it is what you have to offer God and man for all He has done for you.
There are various forms of offering
- Freewill offering
- Firstfruit offering
- Other
